For UK compliance and property services contractors
Tender writing that knows your trade.
Tendersmith reads the whole buyer pack, plans every answer against how it will be scored and drafts from your own certificates, contracts and people. Where the evidence isn’t there, it tells you instead of making it up.
Fire alarm, emergency lighting and extinguisher contracts, answered with the visit frequencies and certification evaluators look for.

An 84-second film with music and on-screen text, no voice. A 214-page council tender is due at 12:00 on Friday. Tendersmith finds it in the day’s notices for the contractor’s trade; six specialist reviewers read every page and give a one-page verdict; answers are drafted from the contractor’s own evidence, with a placeholder wherever evidence is missing; the price is built up in the buyer’s own schedule; the response is designed with exhibits and case studies; a final audit lists what must be fixed before export; and the submission files are packed into one ZIP named the way the buyer asked. Every name shown is fictional.

How it works
From 214 pages to a submission-ready pack.
One workspace per tender and seven stages, each one there for you to check. Scroll through a real bid for a fictional fire and security contractor.
01Find
Live tenders in your trades, every day
New notices from Contracts Finder and Find a Tender, matched to your trades by CPV codes and trade keywords. Or start from any buyer pack you already have.
A one-page brief of each notice: scope, value, dates and lots
A weighted bid or no-bid scorecard with the deal-breakers
02Review
Six specialist reviewers read every page
Procurement, scope, commercial, legal, evaluation and delivery reviewers read the whole pack at once. A lead reviewer writes one report: bid or no-bid with reasons, every deadline, red flags, contradictions between the buyer’s documents, gaps in your records and the questions to ask.
Every question, word limit and weighting pulled out with page references
Never a prediction of winning
03Write
Drafted from your evidence, in the buyer’s order
Each answer is planned against its scored sub-parts, then drafted inside the word limit from your projects, people, certificates and policies. Missing evidence becomes a visible placeholder, never a guess.
Ask for changes by typing or speaking, and accept or discard each one
Policies, method statements, case studies and CVs from your records
04Price
Priced from your own rates
A build-up from your rate card, written into the buyer’s own pricing schedule, with a bill of quantities, three price options and the clarification questions to send. Every default is marked for you to check.
Row and column totals checked against each other
You set and confirm every rate and price
05Audit
A final audit before anything leaves
An independent last check by Claude (Anthropic): every buyer document, requirement, sub-part, limit, form and declaration; each answer against the published scoring descriptors; every claim traced to your evidence; sums, dates and pricing.
Fixes proposed for you to accept or reject
Export stays locked while blockers are open, unless you override one with a recorded reason

The difference
Same question. Two very different answers.
Drag the handle. On the left, the kind of answer a general-purpose AI writer gives. On the right, a real Tendersmith page for the same question: reactive and emergency response.
Answers the question asked. Priorities, response times and how the buyer can hold you to them, in the buyer’s order.
Exhibits an evaluator can scan. Every priority on one clock, drawn from your own commitments.
Gaps shown, not papered over. Anything you still need to confirm is marked in amber for you to fill.

Our holistic, customer-focused approach makes us the ideal partner for this contract, and we look forward to working with you.Not the buyer’s question
Generic AI answer · illustrative
The generic answer promises “an exceptional, industry-leading service”, “rapid response” and compliance with “all relevant British Standards” without a single response time, standard or commitment. The Tendersmith page sets out three priorities with attendance times on one clock and how each is recorded.
Honesty by design
It’s built not to invent facts.
One invented fact can sink an otherwise good answer. So Tendersmith drafts only from the buyer’s pack and your Vault, and shows you exactly where the evidence runs out.
1
Placeholders, not guesses
Anything missing becomes a visible [EVIDENCE NEEDED: …] or [CONFIRM: …] placeholder and an item on your gap list.
2
A claims audit on every answer
Each factual sentence is checked against your evidence. An unsupported claim is removed or turned into a placeholder, and numbers that appear in none of your records are flagged.
3
A third-party guard
A partner, subcontractor, alarm receiving centre or register is a fact about your company. It is named only when your records support it; the buyer’s requirements never count as proof.
You still check and approve every answer.
Q3Planned preventative maintenance20%
Every fire alarm visit follows BS 5839-1 and every emergency lighting test BS 5266-1. Annual fire risk assessments at all seven sites are carried out by [EVIDENCE NEEDED: your qualified fire risk assessor’s name and registration]Alex Marsh, our fire risk assessor listed on the IFE register, with a written report and a prioritised action plan.

Pricing
Pricing that adds up, and never invents your prices.
Tendersmith does the arithmetic from your rate card and writes it into the buyer’s own schedule. Where your rate card has a gap, it shows a marked default from published UK rates for you to confirm or replace. It never sets a price or a rate: you do.

Data and trust
Your evidence stays yours.
What happens to your documents, in plain English. The privacy notice names every provider.
A UK company
Tendersmith is operated by ZLT Contractors Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 13997354). AI runs only when you start a step.
Claude on EU zero-data-retention hosts first
Drafting, reviews and checks use Anthropic’s Claude, sent first to Google Cloud Vertex AI in Europe, then Amazon Bedrock in Ireland, only to hosts listed as zero data retention. If neither is available, another zero-data-retention host of the same model can be used, which can be outside the UK and the EU.
Reading steps, disclosed
Every request goes through OpenRouter (United States). Reading and extraction use Xiaomi’s MiMo models, with MiniMax as a stand-by; these companies are based in China, and these requests also go only to zero-data-retention hosts, which can be in the United States, China or elsewhere.
Not used to train AI
Your content is not used to train AI models. Every request tells OpenRouter to use only hosts that don’t store prompts or outputs for training (“data collection denied”, always on).
You own your content
The documents and records you upload, and the drafts, analyses and other outputs produced for you, are yours. We don’t share them with or show them to other customers.
A final audit gate
The submission export is refused while blockers are open, unless you override one with a recorded reason. You approve every answer and submit it yourself.
These routing settings are instructions to OpenRouter, not a guarantee from us. Don’t upload material whose handling rules forbid this, such as documents marked for UK-only handling or security-classified material.
Honest limits
What Tendersmith doesn’t do.
Better you hear it here than on the day of a deadline.
It doesn’t submit for you. You approve every answer and submit through the buyer’s portal.
It can’t know what you haven’t told it. Drafts are only as strong as your Vault and the buyer pack; gaps are flagged, not filled with guesses.
It doesn’t promise wins. No win-rate claims and no score predictions. The evaluator review is a rehearsal.
It isn’t legal, financial or pricing advice. The contract risk review explains terms in plain English and lists questions for your solicitor. The Price step does the arithmetic from your own rates; it never sets a price or a rate, and you confirm every figure.
It doesn’t cover every portal. Search uses notices collected from Contracts Finder and Find a Tender. You can upload any buyer pack by hand.
It needs readable documents. Text-based PDFs, Word and text files work. Scanned or image-only pages need an accessible text version.
AI runs outside the UK. Every request goes through OpenRouter (United States). Drafting, reviews and checks use Anthropic’s Claude, sent first to zero-data-retention hosts in the EU (Google Cloud in Europe, then Amazon Bedrock in Ireland). Reading and extraction steps use Xiaomi’s MiMo models, with MiniMax as a stand-by; their hosts can be in the United States, China or elsewhere. Read the privacy notice before uploading sensitive material.

Tender review, pricing, drafting, final audit and the bid pack
A bid is one tender: its brief, buyer pack analysis, plans, every drafted answer, reviews and exports. A bid is counted when you start its first AI step, and every later step for that tender is included, up to 120 AI steps per bid (fair use; a full six-question bid uses about 60). Changes you ask for are counted separately under fair use. Re-running with unchanged inputs reuses the last result and costs nothing. Unused bids don’t roll over.
Each plan also has a monthly AI limit. Very large tenders use more, so they can reach it before all bids are used; your Plan & allowance page shows where you are.
Fire protection, fire doors and passive fire, fire risk assessment, security systems, electrical compliance, EV charging and renewables, gas and heating, water hygiene, HVAC and refrigeration, lifts, asbestos, access and height safety, building fabric and roofing, housing repairs and voids, retrofit and energy, facilities management, cleaning, grounds and arboriculture, pest control and waste.
Will it write the whole bid?
It drafts each quality answer, the executive summary, social value and mobilisation responses, and tailored case studies and CVs, and builds the company policies a buyer asks for from your answers. You edit and approve every one. It lays out a price build-up from your own rates for you to check, but it never sets your price, and it won’t sign declarations.
How does it stop the AI making things up?
Every draft is limited to the buyer pack and your company records, each with a reference. Missing facts become placeholders and gaps. A claims audit then checks each factual sentence against your evidence and removes an unsupported claim or turns it into a placeholder, and a third-party guard stops it naming a partner, subcontractor or register your records don’t support. Automatic checks also look for numbers that don’t appear in your evidence, missed sub-parts, banned filler phrases, US spellings and word-limit overruns, and show you what they find.
Does it set my prices?
No. The Price step builds up the price from your own rate card, marks every default for you to check, writes the figures into the buyer’s schedule and checks the sums. You set and confirm every rate and price. It isn’t financial or pricing advice.
Will it predict my score?
No. The evaluator review scores each answer against the buyer’s published descriptors, sub-part by sub-part, with the fixes that would lift it. It is a rehearsal of the evaluation, not a prediction of your result, and we make no win-rate claims.
Where do the tenders come from?
Notices collected from Contracts Finder and Find a Tender, filtered to your trades using CPV codes and trade keywords. It is not every UK portal. If you have a pack from elsewhere, start a bid and upload it.
What happens to my documents?
They are stored in your private workspace. When you run an AI step, the relevant text is sent through OpenRouter to the model for that step: Anthropic’s Claude on zero-data-retention hosts, EU first, for drafting, reviews and checks; Xiaomi MiMo or MiniMax for reading the pack. Every request tells OpenRouter to use only hosts that don’t store prompts or outputs for training. The privacy notice names every provider.
Do I need a bid writer?
No, but it helps to have someone who knows the contract read every answer. Tendersmith is designed so that person can go from buyer pack to a reviewed, well-structured response without starting from a blank page.
How many users can I have?
Each plan is one company workspace with one owner login. Staff records and CVs are evidence in the Vault, not extra logins.
Can I cancel?
Plans are monthly with no minimum term. You keep read and download access to your existing work after a plan ends.
Try it on the next tender you’re looking at.
Fourteen days, no card. Bring a live buyer pack and see what it finds.
